The Rose Garden Labyrinth
A labyrinth is an ancient archetype used for centuries across cultures as a tool for contemplation. Unlike a maze, there are no dead ends, but one clear path to the center and out again. The act of repetition provides a meditative experience.
Labyrinth walking meditation
Before entering the labyrinth, stand in stillness and take a few deep breaths.
- You can walk with an intention, or just walk to walk. Enter and follow the natural rhythm of your steps.
- Notice the lightness of one foot as it lifts up and the weight of your other foot on the earth.
- You may move closer to the center, only to move farther away again. The path will lead you forward. When you reach the center, pause and reflect on your journey.
- Notice how you feel compared to when you began. When ready, follow the same path out.
