Descanso Railroad Grand Opening

July 13 @ 8:30 am - 6:30 pm

Included with Descanso Gardens membership or admission

Explore the new Descanso Railroad on Saturday, July 13. Marvel at the model trains traveling through landscapes and depots made of natural materials (many from Descanso Gardens).

Enjoy a new train station where you can take your favorite ride through the garden on our electric train.

Over in the Oak Grove, get your groove on as True Blue plays bluegrass music from 11am–2pm.

Please note that a limited number of train ride tickets will be available for purchase.

  • Same-day train tickets are $5 each. Starting in early July, 10-ride train passports will be available for $50, and 20-ride passports for $100
  • Family and Friends and Nature Lover members receive 25% off 10- and 20-ride passports year-round
  • Perennial Circle members receive 50% off 10- and 20-ride passports year-round

Schedule

  • Model trains will be running from 8:30am–6:30pm
  • Train rides are from 9:30am–4pm (limited number of tickets available for purchase)
  • True Blue bluegrass band performs 11am–2pm in the Oak Grove
