Cultivate: Taking Flight invites guests to consider animals and insects that take flight. Wander the grounds at your own pace, with new activities around every corner. The event is free with admission, so come celebrate summer at Cultivate!

Native Bees Talk

• Join Krystle Hickman, a Native Bee Conservationist, who will guide you through an understanding of native bees. Krystle will point out how to identify bees, their homes, their habitats, and where you can find them at Descanso Gardens
• Location: Birch near the Guest Services building (Visitor Center)

Butterfly Photo Op 

• Strike a pose in front of a butterfly installation created by visual artist Leslie K. Gray

Hawk on Hand 

• Experience a hawking and falconry demonstration from Hawk on Hand. Learn about falconry history, equipment, and raptor conservation

Los Angeles Zoo 

• Meet L.A. Zoo staff and learn all about California Condors, their biology, and the California Condor Recovery Program
