Descanso is a birding hotspot, but what do we know about the habits of our feathered friends? Walk the gardens with Professor Michelle Rensel to observe birds, identify clues about their behaviors, and extrapolate information about their lives.

About Dr. Michelle Rensel
Dr. Michelle Rensel is a teaching professor at UCLA whose research focuses on hormones and behavior in birds, as well as best practices for teaching biology.
She has conducted fieldwork with free-living, cooperatively breeding Florida scrub-jays as well as captive work with Western scrub jays and zebra finches.
