Rose-stravaganza Nursery Tour

$5 – $10
Join us for a behind-the-scenes nursery tour to see what it takes to care for and preserve the diverse plants of Descanso Gardens. This tour will focus on the roses of Descanso – in particular how to breed, propagate, and care for them.
$5 members, $10 non-members. Registration opens to members on May 5 at 10am and to non-members at May 12 at 10am.
About Frank Obregon
Frank Obregon, a longtime plant devotee and nurseryman, currently oversees the Descanso nursery facilities and operations where he focuses on maintaining and breeding new varieties from our chrysanthemum, lilac, and camellia collections.
Frank has spent many years working with carnivorous plants and native California plants. He is a proud graduate of Cal Poly, Pomona.
About the Ruth Borun Nursery and Propagation Center
The Ruth Borun Nursery and Propagation Center at Descanso Gardens serves as the backbone for growing, protecting, and enhancing the garden collections.
The nursery staff is constantly active and working on projects: from growing annual plants for the Promenade, to establishing native California species, to archiving and saving clones of our historic lilac, camellia, and rose varieties.
